WELLINGTON, New Zealand - A family court judge in New Zealand has had enough with parents giving their children bizarre names here, and did something about it.

Just ask Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii. He had her renamed.

Judge Rob Murfitt made the 9-year-old girl a ward of the court so that her name could be changed, he said in a ruling made public Thursday. The girl was involved in a custody battle, he said.

The new name was not made public to protect the girl's privacy.

"The court is profoundly concerned about the very poor judgment which this child's parents have shown in choosing this name," he wrote. "It makes a fool of the child and sets her up with a social disability and handicap, unnecessarily."

The girl had been so embarrassed at the name that she had never told her closest friends what it was. She told people to call her "K" instead, the girl's lawyer, Colleen MacLeod, told the court.

In his ruling, Murfitt cited a list of the unfortunate names.

Registration officials blocked some names, including Fish and Chips, Yeah Detroit, Keenan Got Lucy and Sex Fruit, he said. But others were allowed, including Number 16 Bus Shelter "and tragically, Violence," he said.

New Zealand law does not allow names that would cause offense to a reasonable person, among other conditions, said Brian Clarke, the registrar general of Births, Deaths and Marriages.

Clarke said officials usually talked to parents who proposed unusual names to convince them about the potential for embarrassment.

I mean come on, we've all done it: sat around and watched our crazy white friends, actin' like a fool...
Well I guess this weekend, on a yacht off the coast of Spain, former CSI hottie/heroin & X abuser, GARY DOURDAN (the butterscotch dude in the white shorts, laying on deck) took his turn. As he watched his buddie, singer James Blunt and some drunken ho-fessionals re-enact their favorite scenes from Girls Gone Wild, Gary was careful to keep his hands in plain sight and away from all flotation devices.

Remember Gary, it's all fun and games til somebody cries Ra...I'm not even gonna say it. I want to. But I won't.

WALLER COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- The Waller County Sheriff's Office believes Darryl Layne Norris, 26, hatched an escape plan to literally slip out of the Waller County Jail early Saturday morning.

Investigators believe Norris intentionally lost 30 pounds over the past three months so he could fit between the one foot wide air vent in his cell.

When Norris was arrested he weighed 160 pounds. Waller County Sheriff Randy Smith estimates Norris lost nearly 30 pounds to fit through that vent. Although Norris shared a cell with approximately five other inmates, he was the only one who escaped.

Norris is described as a white male with reddish blonde hair, hazel eyes and is six feet tall. He has tattoos on his chest, arms and legs.

Norris is wanted for the murder of a convenience store owner in April.

Waller County Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for his capture. Please call 979-826-8266 if you can help.

UMMM...MARIO LOPEZ?

Josh Brolin and Jeffrey Wright, who were arrested this past weekend at a Shreveport, La. bar, were pepper sprayed and tased by cops. And reportedly, police went on a vulgar/racist rant -- and portions were caught on cell phone video.

The incident occurred during a wrap party for Oliver Stone's movie "W" about the Prez. Local station KTBS reports and TMZ sources say Wright, who plays Colin Powell, was repeatedly tasered and pepper sprayed as he lay prone on his stomach in the street. Witnesses heard the officers using extremely foul language, including the "N" word, directed at Wright.

Sources say Brolin was observed by witnesses attempting to make peace and standing still as he was repeatedly sprayed in the eyes by cops.

The city attorney has not decided whether to file criminal charges against Brolin, Wright or the others for interfering with a police officer.

Throw 2 snaps in the air for Jesus!

Thanks L for hippin to this! And thanks to Chris for the vid.

WOW! I could NOT make this ish up if I tried.

So ya boy Gay Al Reynold's has spent his hard-fucked money, I mean Star Jones' cash on a film crew, an interviewer and a backdrop painted to look like a study.

And for what you might ask? Well to tell the world that we've got him all wrong. Apparently all of his faux dreads, man-skirt and glossy-lip foolishness has given us an inaccurate portrait of Young Al Reezy. In fact, despite the rumors, several mens claims to have bent him over and Star Jones half-hearted admittals to her hubby's sauciness, Al Reynolds ain't gay. He's just "Cleaner than the board of health."

He also wants ya'll (not me, but ya'll) to stop hatin' on the yellow brothas, just cause they pretty. See where he's from, folks just dressed better (though I don't think in man-skirts) and carried themselves in a way that represented their families.

MC Ben d'em Ova also wants to set the record straight (tryin' to hold my tongue) about his marriage to Star. Listen ya'll he's more than just "Star Jones ex-husband" and he's got a lot to offer...To any rich, saggy lady that don't mind sharing some sausage links with him.

I can't continue. The tears running down my face and onto the keyboard are putting me at risk for electrocution.

A second man was arrested on charges of abducting, beating and robbing Oakland Raiders wide receiver Javon Walker in Las Vegas last month.

Deshawn L. Thomas, 40, was arrested Monday in Las Vegas and held without bail at the Clark County jail, police said Tuesday.

Thomas will be scheduled to appear in Las Vegas Justice Court to face felony kidnapping, robbery and conspiracy charges, police said in a statement. Jail officials said it was not immediately clear if Thomas had a lawyer.

Investigators did not immediately respond to messages seeking details of Thomas' arrest.

Walker was found unconscious on a side street near the Las Vegas Strip shortly after dawn June 16, police said. He was hospitalized for two days with facial injuries and a concussion, and told investigators that about $3,000 in cash and $100,000 worth of jewelry were taken. It was not clear Tuesday if any money or jewelry had been recovered.

Police released a grainy surveillance videotape June 24, identifying the man in it as a second suspect after the arrest of 30-year-old Arfat Fadel.

Fadel remained jailed pending a preliminary hearing July 16. His lawyer has said he will plead not guilty to kidnapping, robbery and conspiracy charges. A kidnapping conviction carries a sentence of life in prison with the possibility of parole.

Investigators have said Fadel and another man appeared on surveillance videotapes at some of the same casinos and clubs where Walker partied and gambled the night of June 15. Walker was photographed spraying champagne into a crowd at the Body English nightclub at the Hard Rock hotel-casino.

Early on June 16, police say Walker willingly got into the front passenger seat of a black Range Rover in the valet parking area at the Bellagio hotel-casino.

Fadel and the other man "clearly and methodically lured Walker into the vehicle as he represented (an) easy target due to his level of intoxication," police said in a report. Police say Fadel was driving and the other man got in the back seat.

Walker later told police he was grabbed by the neck from behind, and did not recall much more. He said he did not know who the men were.

Walker's agent, Kennard McGuire of Richmond, Texas, and a spokesman for the Raiders did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment.

Walker was a first-round draft pick in 2001 by the Green Bay Packers. He was traded to the Denver Broncos in 2006, and released last February before he was signed by Oakland to a six-year, $55 million deal

KANYE WEST is blogging again...This time he's a little ticked at Harper's Bazaar's assumption that a painting in his home is of him as an angel...

"To put it short as Kanyely possible(don't mean to speak in third person).... Harper's Bazaar came to my home, took pics, asked a lot of questions and then assumed the painting in my dining room was of me as an angel. This isn't true and it bothered me greatly because people think I'm so so so cocky that I would have something like that. I'm sure it was an inside joke to everyone from the magazine in my home that day. People would come over my house after that and say, " I heard about this pic of you as an angel!" I would have appreciated if Harper's Bazaar would have put in some type of blurb to clear it up. I wanted people to see my home because I spent 2 years gutting it and was proud. I'm just a regular guy with cool stuff in his crib but instead I was made out to be Ben Stiller's character in the movie 'Dodgeball' with the huge pic of him wrestling a bull in his office. Why didn't they write that my house had no pics of me, no plaques or awards, just art.

I guess it's bittersweet, you spend half your life trying to become larger than life and the other half trying to just live a real life again. "

I got a question: Is it because the angel's black, that they assumed it was of West? Yeah, I said it.

"Soulja boy is fresh ass hell and is actually the true meaning of what hip hop is sposed to be."

KANYE WEST explains in a blog post over the weekend. Now this earth-shattering response, was prompted by ICE-T's rant last week about how Hurricane Chris & Soulja Boy are ruining Hip Hop.

Now of course I ignored it because here we were once again with one of raps pioneers, ragging on the next generation, (which bugs the ish outta me). But then it's got kinda interesting when Kanye took to his site to rally for "Team Souja Boy."

Ye goes on to write:

He came from the hood, made his own beats, made up a new saying, new sound and a new dance with one song. He had all of America rapping this summer. If that ain't Hip Hop then what is? A bunch of wannabe keep it real rappers that ain't even relevant, recycling samples trying to act like it's 96 again and all they do is hate on new shit? Niggas always talk about the golden age but for a 13 year old kid, this is the golden age!!! That song was so dope cause everything he said had a hidden meaning... that's Nas level shit... he just put it over some steel drums which is also some Nas shit if you had the 2nd album cassette with the bonus track "Silent Murder" on it. In closing... new niggas get ya money$$$$$$$$$$ Keep this shit fresh and original.... ain't no fuckin' rules to this shit and that's what real hip hop is to me.

SKOPJE, Macedonia (AP) -- A Macedonian journalist jailed on suspicion of murdering at least two women in crimes he wrote about for his newspaper has been found dead in his cell, police said Monday.

Vlado Taneski, 56, had been charged with two murders and was being investigated for the death of another woman and the disappearance of a fourth. He was jailed Sunday after a court ordered him held for 30 days pending the conclusion of the investigation.

Police became suspicious after Taneski published articles about the crimes in a national daily newspaper that contained details police had not released to the public.

Police spokesman Ivo Kotevski said the journalist is believed to have committed suicide early Monday, but an investigation was being conducted.

"He was found dead with his head in a bucket of water," Kotevski told The Associated Press.

Kotevski said two other prisoners were in the same cell. He said police were expected to announce more details later Monday.

Taneski was arrested Friday at home in the town of Kicevo, about 75 miles (120 kilometers) southwest of the capital, Skopje. Police were searching his house and his cottage in a nearby village.

All the victims were elderly women who worked as cleaners and lived in the same neighborhood of Kicevo, police said.

The three women's bodies were found naked and stuffed into nylon bags hidden in different locations, police said. They had been sexually and physically abused, strangled and wrapped with telephone cables, they said.

The body of 65-year-old Zivana Temelkoska was found this year; 56-year-old Ljubica Licoska was found dead in 2007, and Mitra Simjanoska, 64, in 2005.

Police are also searching for a 78-year-old woman who went missing in 2003, and suspect she also may have been a victim, Kotevski said.

Some of the victims' relatives said they had met Taneski when he was working on his articles about the crimes.

"He came to our home, we talked, he asked for details," Temelkoska's son Zoran Temelkoski told local television. "Who could imagine that it would be our neighbor at the end?"

Licoska's sister, Cvetanka, said she was shocked that police had named the journalist as the main suspect.

"I'm very surprised with this outcome. He came to me and asked for some details about my sister," she said.
