The rapper's follow-up to 2007's 'American Gangster' was previously reported to be produced solely by Timbaland, but the hip-hop star has revealed that sessions are more of a musical competition between his collaborators.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Jay-Z said: "I'm a person that works off music. If Timbaland makes 10 great tracks then he produces the album, if Kanye West makes 10 great tracks then he produces the album; if he makes three, I'll take three. I let the music dictate the direction.
"You know I love Timbaland, he is like a brother to me, but until the music is done it's premature."
Jay-Z also reflected on his Glastonbury headline performance last month (June 29), saying: "I believe they were ready for a hip-hop act to headline, so even before I got onstage there was this rawness.
"The statement they made before I got onstage was 'Come out and if you're brilliant, you're brilliant and if you're crap, you're crap'. And I came up and I delivered on it. And as the far as the rest of Europe, I'm being very honest, I really had the best run I ever had in my life."

According to TIMBALAND, Jay-Z has asked the hitmaker to take the helm and produce the rappers next project, in it's entirety.Timb recently told MTV News that he's "Excited," about the idea and intends to make the album "a classic." The buff newlywed is no stranger to Hov projects. He's only one of 3 producers to claim songs on all of Jigga's albums, save for 2 (1996's Reasonable & 98's In My Lifetime).
Hmmm, I mean I love me some Big Pimpin & Dirt Of My Shoulders, but I also love to hear the introspective Jay, so this should be interesting?

A guy wants $88 million bucks out of Jay-Z not for a lyric he jacked, or a sample he stole -- but for stealing that ultra-exclusive technique of ... rapping in a low whisper.
Mitchell Rose, who tells us he's a boxer/lawyer/rapper, has filed suit in Brooklyn alleging that he created the technique of "whisper rapping." Rose says that Hova subsequently adopted the technique without properly crediting him -- and now he wants to get paid!
The same Mitchell Rose once wrote a book called "Mike Tyson Tried to Kill My Daddy." Jay-Z's rep didn't return our call for comment.
But yo for real, if anybody has that book, I abosolutely want to read it. Did I ever tell you bout the time Mike Tayson crashed by birthday brunch? And then drove me from Usher's birthday party? one day.

Producer Polow Da Don added a fifth award to his BMI collection as he was given Songwriter of the Year honors at BMI's 56th Annual Pop Awards last night.
The honor is the result of his success writing four of 2007's top 50 songs including the Pussycat Dolls "Buttons" ft. Snoop Dogg; Fergie's "London Bridge," and "Glamorous" ft. Ludacris as well as "Runaway Love," by Luda ft. Mary J. Blige.
While Polow currently holds four other BMI awards, this marked his first time winning BMI Pop Songwriter of the Year.
The event was held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles. Other honorees included Publisher of the Year EMI-Blackwood Music, Inc, and Daryl Hall and John Oates, who were honored as BMI Icons. Previous BMI Icons include James Brown, Carlos Santana and Isaac Hayes. SOURCE
Foxy's former manager and CEO of Black Hand Entertainment, Chaz "Slim" Williams, spoke out recently, firing back at the Brooklyn rapper's harsh criticism of the album that was released under his tutelage.
In case she may want to make a bigger deal of her displeasure with the record, Williams, who was spotlighted on an episode of BET's documentary series American Gangster last year, issued a warning to Fox Boogie.
"I just want you to know that in times of peace you prepare for war, and you better bet I'm prepared, so I would advise as a cautionary measure, a caveat, don't even do it."
The two have parted ways after working together for over a year.
Next month, Koch plans on re-releasing Brooklyn's Don Diva with a more structured promotional campaign, which includes five new records, videos, publicity and mass marketing. The disc won't hit shelves without Foxy's say-so. SOURCE
Beyonce Knowles has finally come clean about her secret marriage to Jay-Z, admitting that she won’t deny their union.
The former Destiny’s Child singer got hitch to hip-hop mogul Jay-Z in a private ceremony in New York last month, but neither newlywed has talked about the happy news.
Knowles has finally acknowledged the wedding, stating: She says, "I don't deny it (the wedding). I just don't talk about it.
“We've never talked about us and it's kind of protected our relationship. I think it's kept us out of tabloid drama.
"A lot of actresses that have had successful relationships don't talk about them, so neither do I." SOURCE
