THE BOX-OFFICE ROUND UP

There was a big surprise at the box office this weekend, for a second weekend in a row, the blackjack flick 21, took home the number one slot, bringing in an additional $15.1 mil, bringing in it's total to aroun $40 mil so far. Why is this a surprise? Well because last weeks big opener, the very well received, George Clooney creation, Letherheads, had tracked to be number one, but failed to pull it off.

Some say the period piece/sports flick combo, was too much of a turn-off, some say the surprisingly nice weather throughout the east and mid-west kept older movie-goers outside and away from the theater. Adn some say that even the promise of Clooney in tight pants and the skeleton that is Renee Zellweger, weren't enough to lure Clooney's often loyal femal fan base.

Either way it came in a sizable second with only $13.4 mil.

Here are the rest of the numbers:

2.”Leatherheads,” $13.4 million
3.”Nim’s Island,” $13.3 million

7.”Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns,” $3.5 million
8.”Drillbit Taylor,” $3.4
